Play therapy enables a child to explore their challenging thoughts and feelings in a safe space with a trained professional through their natural language of play. This specialised therapeutic approach enables children to express themselves freely, build emotional resilience, develop coping strategies, and gain a deeper understanding of their experiences—all within a supportive and nurturing environment.
After an initial phone consultation, I will meet with you, the parent/carers, to discuss your child’s unique needs and to complete the necessary forms.
Next, I will meet with your child and we will begin our play therapy sessions weekly.
The sessions are 40 minutes and will take place at the same time and in the same place each week.
It is recommended that a child has a minimum of 12 sessions.
We will hold regular review meetings to discuss progress and provide you with strategies to support your family in managing big emotions at home.
